Although specific trial sites have yet to be determined it is the contention of the working group that there is a widespread abundance of suitable habitat available for this species in England. The beaver will be a vital ecological component of healthy wetland ecosystems and of great benefit to wider biodiversity, providing corridors for the migration of many species, both plant and animal.  Its presence in the modern English countryside could be easily supported with appropriate management.
